Rich Wilson, MPA, CPP
Rich Wilson is an independent contractor who consults with an array of boutique behavioral threat management providers and law firms on a broad range of cases and clients. He has expertise in the detection and prevention of technology-facilitated crime and helps clients with integrating open source internet intelligence and social media analysis into their assessments and case management plans. He also confers with clients on how-to communicate enterprise risk to key decision makers and executives in matters relating to online threats.
Through his leadership in professional organizations, Mr. Wilson has been on the leading edge of the convergence of physical and digital security by bringing together professionals from the arenas of information systems security, computer forensics, cybersecurity and physical security to foster an appreciation for the enterprise risk management.
Mr. Wilson has over twenty-five years of real-world threat management experience and is a former Assistant Chief of Police at Arizona State University where he established one of the first threat assessment teams in higher education. He is a past-president of the Arizona Chapter of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and served as the Chairman of the ASIS Phoenix Chapter. Mr. Wilson is also an active member in the High Technology Crime Investigation Association, the National White-Collar Crime Center and The SANS Institute.
Mr. Wilson is Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through ASIS International and holds a B.A. in Political Science from American University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Arizona State University.
