ABOUT LEAL
This annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon (LEAL) is our opportunity to recognize the efforts put forth on a daily basis by the men and women of law enforcement throughout the state. The chapter extends an invitation to the agency heads of every local, state, tribal, federal and military agency in the state to attend the luncheon at no cost to the chief or its agency. During the luncheon the chapter presents Awards of Valor to officers chosen from nominations received from the departments themselves and voted on by our chapter board. All winners are brought on stage to be recognized and accept their award from our sponsors.
A more poignant aspect of the luncheon is when we take the time to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The families of our fallen officers are invited to attend the luncheon and are presented with a small monetary remembrance, which they can use in whatever manner they decide best honors their loved one.The families are awarded the token regardless of their ability to attend the luncheon. The luncheon also serves as a fundraiser opportunity for the vital work of the 100 Club in assisting our fallen heroes’ families.
