Gary Lightfoot is a Corporate Security Director who works with all the Desert Financial Credit Union team members to establish strong physical security procedures and practices.

Gary realizes all employees have to feel safe at work so they can focus on giving exceptional experiences to those they serve and work with. He takes pride in helping to secure that safe environment.

After working in Law Enforcement for 26 years, Gary was hired as the first dedicated Security Director for Desert Financial 15 years ago. He has had the privilege of developing and writing procedures and training staff in many areas of physical security to live out his mantra, KEEP OUR PEOPLE SAFE. Gary also gets the opportunity to work with the local community as law enforcement liaison and by participating in the ASIS International security professional organization. These affiliations provide him with many opportunities to participate in charitable efforts to help those less fortunate in his community.

Gary is a certified Critical Incident Scene Commander and graduate of the Police Executive Training Institute through Northwestern University. He was very proud to be named the Outstanding Leader in the class by his peers in Law Enforcement. He also proudly served as Board member and Chairman for the Phoenix ASIS Chapter. Gary also loves teaching and worked many years as a college Professor and Police Academy instructor.

Gary holds a Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Criminal Justice from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Lindenwood University.
