Bio: Reginald Parker, PMP, CPP is a Professor in the College of Security and Intelligence at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.  He teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in Global Transportation and Supply Chain Security; Threat, Vulnerability and Risk; International Security Operations Management; Project Management Certification; Brand and IP Protection and related risk and security-based classes.

Reg is the Faculty Advisor for the ASIS Eagle Chapter and the National Security Honor Society:  Order of the Sword and Shield. He is an active member of ASIS, the Project Management Institute, TAPA, and Society of International Affairs.  He is retired from Motorola/NXP where he managed large international programs and developed the technology ‘reverse supply chain’ program to protect, secure and recover value of intellectual property.

Topic: Supply Chain Vulnerabilities Exposed by the Corona Virus

This discussion will utilize current examples of supply chain vulnerability and failure caused by a international ‘Black Swan” event…the Corona Virus.

On a global scale, “just in time” (JIT) delivery and efficient order demand systems have reduced costs to both consumers and companies but also created supply chain “fragility”.  Suggestions will include methods to identify vulnerabilities, understanding strategic sourcing; and risk management options to enhance and secure a resilient supply chain.
