Job Duties:

·         Performs complex security equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls.

·         Performs complex security product and service training to customers.

·         Performs complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and completes documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures of security equipment.

·         Performs complex service or systems calls and interfaces with customer personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution for security related items.

·         Performs assessment of complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements to security equipment.

·         Create and maintain appropriate documentation as needed.

·         Assist Security Manager with creating and implementing new and updated security procedures relating to security equipment

·         Recommending system maintenance resolutions to Local Security Management and Technical Security Manager

·         Consult with Technical Security Manager on any challenges/issues regarding security systems as applicable

·         Participate in the negotiation and administration of service or systems contracts with vendors on security equipment

·         Partner with onsite facilities personnel to assist with security equipment related projects, maintenance, and outages

·         All other duties as assigned

Required Skill in:

·         Roles exhibiting a high degree of confidentiality and/or data sensitivity with demonstrated security/safety experience and knowledge, including project planning and implementation.

·         Serving as an effective member of teams and working groups that can successfully communicate physical security related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.

·         Principles of Access Control Systems, Alarm Systems (intrusion and duress) and Surveillance Systems (CCTV).

·         Systems design, development, documentation, testing, implementation and/or maintenance

·         Proficient in MS Windows and Office software with the ability to present plans and proposals to key personnel.

·         Applying project management techniques and principles.

·         Managing multiple tasks, setting objectives/goals, and re-prioritizing as needed.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

·         Work is performed in standard office, construction, and manufacturing type environments.

·         Subject to standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds; may occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery and extreme weather conditions when working in the field.

Position Overview

The Security Manager plans, directs and coordinates activities relating to the protection, safeguarding and security of company assets, employees, invitees and others. Ensures that established goals and objectives are accomplished with prescribed priorities, time limitations and with fiscal responsibilities. Designs, implements and monitors security policies, procedures and programs.

 General Responsibilities

  • Plans, examines, analyzes, evaluates and supervises all security operations, inclusive of physical security assets and security personnel. Evaluates current procedures, practices and precedents for accomplishing company activities and functions relative to security. Develops and implements alternative methods for security operation improvement.
  • Assists in the preparation of the department’s annual budget. Reviews financial reports to ensure security operation efficiency and quality control.
  • Assists in preparation of emergency management and contingency planning. Serves as Leisure World’s liaison with public law enforcement, fire and other agencies as it relates to security at Leisure World.
  • Initiates personnel actions such as recruitment, selections, transfers, promotions and discipline or dismissal measures. Resolves work grievances or submits unsettled grievances to the Human Resources Department for action. Prepares work schedules; assigns or delegates responsibilities. Provides work directives for subordinates.
  • Attend monthly board work sessions and provide a quarterly presentation of the department.
  •        Other duties as assigned by management.



  •        Bachelor’s Degree.
  •        Five (5) years of security management experience, preferably in a 55+ community.
  •        Valid AZ Driver’s License.
  •        Armed or unarmed guard card.
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by the American Society for Industrial Security.
  • Any professionally recognized certifications in the security related field.
