The November meeting will feature a presentation by Lindsay Herf, Executive Director of the Arizona Justice Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to exonerating the innocent and correcting cases of manifest injustice in Arizona.

Lindsay Herf is the Executive Director for the Arizona Justice Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to exonerating the innocent and correcting cases of manifest injustice in Arizona.

Lindsay developed an interest for criminal post-conviction relief work while in law school, where she was a clinic student for the California Innocence Project.

Lindsay’s professional career over the past decade has focused on litigating post-conviction innocence cases and studying the causes of wrongful convictions.  Lindsay came to the Arizona Justice Project initially to work on cases where DNA evidence could be tested and resolve a claim of innocence. The Justice Project, in collaboration with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, ultimately uncovered an innocent individual when, in 2010, DNA testing proved he did not commit the crime.  He was the third individual in Arizona to be exonerated with the help of advanced DNA testing.

From 2013 to 2015, Lindsay went to Washington D.C. to work on the FBI Hair Microscopy Review with partners from the Innocence Project, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the U.S. Department of Justice.  That review has led to additional exonerations across the country.
